Tyler The Creator – the critically acclaimed rapper and producer – claimed that he wrote the track “See You Again” for Malik, but Zayn flaked out on him not once but twice! Tyler took to Twitter today to write, “Fun fact, I wrote ‘See You Again,’ for Zayn,” but according to the rapper, he didn’t show up to the studio two times in a row.
The “Flower Boy” artist said he “kept the ref for myself,” and it worked out in the end. Tyler, who is 26-years-old, released the track, “See You Again,” in July on his critically acclaimed fourth album titled Flower Boy. The song features Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis.
The rapper’s new album has been praised by critics, with one music reviewer from the AV Club writing that his “flow” has definitely improved.

With that said, this isn’t the first time Tyler reached out to Zayn for a collaboration of sorts.
Back in August of 2015, Tyler hit up the former One Directioner with the tweet, “I HAVE BEAUTIFUL INSTRUMENTALS, AND YOU HAVE A VOICE,” so the rapper wanted to “figure this out.”
As for what the Creator has been up to lately, Tyler just announced a new trailer for his upcoming series on Adult Swim, “The Jellies.” The show tells the story of a family of jellyfish and their adopted human son.
It premieres on the 22nd of October. It’s an exciting day for fans of the producer because according to him, “85%” of the music on the show is created by Tyler himself. He also has another show on Vice called, “Nuts + Bolts.”
