Tyler Perry is in the midst of the Christmas spirit as the actor, director, writer and producer blessed Christmas shoppers at two Wal-Mart stores located in Atlanta and Douglasville, Georgia. According to a video he recorded and shared on Instagram and Twitter, he had hoped the act of generosity would remain anonymous. Word got out, prompting Perry to speak out about the act of kindness.
News of Perry’s generosity went viral and fans immediately praised Tyler Perry for his kindness.
According to his video, Perry paid off the layaway debts at an Atlanta and Douglasville, Georgia Wal-Mart. He gave the address to each store and said that those who placed their layaways will only need to pay 1 cent in order to get their items.
Perry stated the following in his video.
“I know it’s a hard time, a lot of people are struggling, I’m just really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this, so God bless you, go get your stuff, Merry Christmas.”

According to a statement by Wal-Mart, Tyler Perry paid off layaway debts fro 1500 Wal-Mart shoppers.
LeMia Jenkins spoke to People about Tyler Perry’s generosity and stated the following.
“Tyler Perry’s generous donation is making an unbelievable difference for so many families, and we can’t thank him enough for his kindness. The heartfelt excitement and joy we’re seeing from our customers as a result of his holiday gift has been touching.”
All of Perry’s social media accounts were filled with gratitude and thankfulness.
One can only the feeling someone would experience when they went to their local Wal-Mart to make a layaway payment only to be told that their debt has been fulfilled.
Perry expressed joy that he was able to help others who need help this holiday season.
When Tyler Perry isn’t busy saving Christmas, he’s busy acting, and working as a producer and director. Fans will next see Tyler Perry in the movie Vice that is set for a Christmas day release.
