Nicki Minaj’s new radio show on Beats One is a can’t-miss program. This week, Tyga called in to drop a few gems on how he’s contributed to Kylie Jenner’s success.
As you probably already know, Tyga and Kylie dated for three years before breaking things off for good. However, during the time she was with him, Kylie’s look and style changed completely and she became the social media and lip kit mogul that the world now knows her as.
Although it seems like the youngest KarJenner sister just became a younger clone of her older sister Kim Kardashian, it turns out that Tyga actually had an imperative part of her popular transition.
When Tyga called into the hotline, Nicki got right into it.
The “Queen” rapper asked if he missed Kylie to which he responded with the famous Future line: “I’m good love, enjoy.”
She then asked if he helped to Stormi Webster’s mom on the map which Tyga said that it was a known fact that he did.
The “Taste” artist did admit that Kylie was destined for stardom with or without him but he took credit for making her appeal to the black community — an integral part of her success.
“She always had a platform, and she was always destined to be where she was going to be, regardless. But, when I stepped in, and there was a lot of codes being taught, it was like, ‘You could do this. You should start this. You should start doing your hair like this, or you should do this. You should adapt because you need black people to f–k with you cause you need culture. If you aint got black people behind you, you aint got nothing—aint nobody going to listen. You can’t influence nobody.’ So, I had a lot to do with all that.”
How do you feel about Tyga’s comments? Do you believe he contributed to Kylie’s rise to stardom?
