Social media exploded with reactions to Donald Trump’s outrageous insults of the Meet the Press host. As you may be aware, during the current president’s speech in support of congressional candidate Rick Saccone yesterday, he bashed Chuck Todd!
Trump also slammed a few others, including Congresswoman Maxine Waters and Oprah Winfrey.
But his harshest words were reserved to Chuck, in reference to a 1999 Meet the Press appearance when he talked about North Korea.
‘You ever see the story? Where it is 1999. I am on ‘Meet the Press,’ a show now headed by sleepy eyes Chuck Todd. He is a sleeping son of a b*tch. And they showed it this morning, 1999, and I am talking about North Korea, ‘You gotta take them out now,’’ the president said.
Chuck took to social media later to subtly reference his supposed sleepiness by reminding all of his followers about Daylight Saving Time.
A lot of users were enraged by Trump’s words, and they did not hesitate to slam him.
‘What’s wrong with this man? Why can’t he show a little class, integrity, and some manners?’ one tweet read.
Another user also tweeted: ‘I am not even expecting him to act like a President any longer- acting like a gentleman would do.’
‘Though I would never utter these words, how would Donald Trump, his ex-wife, and @FLOTUS feel if someone called Eric, Don Jr. and Barron sons of b*tches? Chuck Todd is someone’s son, father, spouse, sibling, friend. Trump has a 5th-grade level vocabulary We have got your back @chucktodd,’ someone defended Chuck.
Most recently, Todd addressed the insult during an interview, saying: ‘I bring my kids up to respect the office of the presidency and the president. I do not allow them to say anything negative about the president. It creates a challenge to all parents when he uses vulgarities like that.’
