Is the popular talk show coming to an end? Rumor has it that Ellen DeGeneres is ready to retire!
The show’s DJ, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, was in attendance at the Teen Choice Awards last night and talked to ET about the speculations.
When asked if Ellen is planning to pull the plug on the hit show, tWitch replied: ‘I can’t tell you anything about that, but I can tell you that I’ll be just as sad. I mean, it’s an amazing place to be in the afternoon, but you know what, she’s also put in mad years, right? So it’s like at some point in time, I feel like it’s going to have to end, but as far as an actual year, I have no idea, but we’re just enjoying it.’
He also told the outlet that no matter what happens, the beloved host has his unlimited support.
‘It’s more than just like … she’s a mentor, she’s a friend, she’s a teacher. It’s awesome, man,’ he gushed about how much Ellen and the show mean to him.
As you may be aware, at the beginning of this year, Ellen talked to Today show host Hoda Kotb and touched upon what’s next in her career and also retirement.
‘I don’t know [what I’m looking forward to]. That’s why I’m going to keep doing this until I figure that out. I’m not looking forward to retiring because I love doing this,’ Ellen shared.
Ellen is still going strong, and she is even coming back to her roots – stand-up!
For the first time in 15 years, on August 10, Ellen went on a comedy tour, starting with San Diego’s Balboa Theater.
San Francisco and Seattle are next, and a Netflix special will be filmed there as well.
