Anne-Marie Losique has Ben Affleck’s back amid the controversial video taken in 2004. In the clip, Ben was flirting with the TV host while complimenting her physical appearance.
Anne Marie, in a statement to E! News, offered a bit of backstory of the clip saying it was a “game” for the cameras, nothing more. She claimed, “and yes, I sat on his lap but it was all fun and games for the cameras. Nothing improper ever happened.”
Anne-Marie continued by saying she never felt uncomfortable and that the interactions were improper. If it had been, she wouldn’t have remained.
According to the TV host, “I’ve always done all the interviews without editing anything out, and I just let it run as is because as I said it makes for great TV.”
In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the host claimed there were 20 people in the room at the time. Losique added that she “felt bad” for him because he was doing a “parody of our French culture,” and that can be seen in other interviews.
However, many people have condemned the actions of the actor. Additionally, the host claimed she hasn’t spoken with the A-lister since the initial interview with him years ago.
Despite her defense of him, many on social media claim the actor was out of line, despite her rebuttals of the criticism levied toward him. The 2004 video surfaced amid Hilarie Burton’s accusation that Ben had “groped” her while on TRL broadcasted by MTV. Since then, the Hollywood star offered an official apology claiming his actions were indeed, inappropriate.
