While Alec Baldwin was reprising his characterization of president Donald Trump on SNL, Trevor Noah was across the nation in LA performing at a charity event for F*** Cancer. In his speech, Trevor spoke on the tragedies that families deal with when discovering a significant other has cancer.
“It’s a scary thing because they first tell you about it, you don’t believe it’s happening.” Noah joked that it’s the sort of illness where it’s easy for an individual to deny that it exists.
As if it only affects others around you, but not yourself. The punchline of the joke was a comparison to Donald Trump, where he finished it off with, “So, wow, cancer is Donald Trump.”

I always go to events early to get great seating. I was first in line. And while waiting to see @thedailyshow with @trevornoah who walks by but Trevor Noah 😂. Very down to earth guy very genuine. #trevornoah #dailyshow @comedycentral #ultimatewirelessent #comedy #southafrica #comedycentral perks of being early! #dailyshowtrumpbook #swipeleft
Noah explained that the president really was a “cancer,” and that it was “pretty wild.” Ever since the president was elected, Noah explained, he has woken every day terrified by the notion that he’s the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet.
While the crowd loved Noah’s remarks, one person who likely would disagree is Kanye West, who has praised the politician in recent months.
This past weekend, Kanye released a Twitter video in which he suggested that social media, especially Twitter, was a sort of “echo chamber,” where people post content not because they genuinely believe in what they’re saying, but to impress their friends.
According to Kanye, he spoke with the CEO of the social media platform, and they discussed eliminating the “likes” feature and the “follower” count from people’s profiles. Whether that will come to fruition or not, remains to be seen.
In addition to Trevor’s performance, was Jeff Garlin from The Goldbergs, who added a bit of comedic relief in the face of a very scary and serious subject.
