The man went through a very scary experience and is now opening up about it. Travis Barker, drummer of Blink-182, couldn’t be any happier to be alive and well after being involved in a car crash involving a school bus.
The artist is apparently still recovering from some unrelated blood clots, however.
In case you don’t know what happened, Barker and his 14-year-old son, Landon Asher and the teen’s pal were in the car on Friday when unexpectedly, a school bus crashed into the vehicle.
Fortunately, at the time, on the bus, there was no one, except for the driver, of course.
That being said, nobody was seriously injured, but it looks like Barker’s black Mercedes SUV was totaled as a result of the collision.
Yesterday, while at Beautycon, the drummer talked to E! News about the accident, saying: ‘I was in a really bad car accident, but I came out unscathed, which is pretty awesome. My car is totaled, but I pretty much walked away OK, which is awesome. A school bus ran a red light. It was insane. I have a really big 4×4 G-Wagon, and if I wasn’t in that, it might have been different, but it held up pretty well.’
As for his appearance at Beautycon this year, the man was there alongside his daughter Alabama Luella, 12 as well as his former stepdaughter, 19-year-old Atiana de la Hoya.
About a month ago, Blink-182 postponed their Las Vegas residency due to Barker’s health problems.
According to the band’s announcement, the drummer was suffering ‘from blood clots in both arms’ and was ordered by his doctors to stop playing until further notice.
Now, Barker told E! News at the event that he is still on blood thinners as there are about 30 clots in his right arm and 10 in his left.
