Blame it on their dramatic divorces. The latest reports claim that Gwen Stefani and her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, are still dealing with the emotions and pain that come from a public split.
Getting divorced from Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale left some wounds that have not healed, and therefore, The Voice coaches are now afraid to walk down the aisle again.
The duo has been together for over three years and every time they take one step towards the wedding bells, a few days later, they take 10 new steps backward because of the trauma left by their failed romances.
A source told Hollywood Life: “There is no big secret as to why Blake and Gwen are not yet engaged. Neither of them needs it to feel committed to each other. They’re both undeniably ‘all in’ when it comes to their relationship. But, when it comes to getting the courts involved and dealing with all the paperwork they’d need to do as far as prenups, it gets overwhelming and frankly, not very romantic. It is very simple — they’re just not in a rush to get that piece of paper.”
The person went on to say that that does not mean they will never get married, it is not clear when they will.
The insider concluded: “When they met. They were both coming out of messy divorces, and they haven’t fully recovered from that trauma. They do talk about getting married, and it’s something they both do see happening down the road, but for now, they’ve agreed to keep things the way they are.”
The source went on to say that Blake has a habit of telling friends that when a romance is not broken do not fix it.
The pal added: “He usually just laughs it off and quotes the old saying, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. If they do decide tomorrow that getting married was suddenly a priority for her, then he’d happily pop the question. But for now, they’ve both agreed that a wedding can wait.”
These two will keep fans guessing for a very long time.
