Over the past year, Tori Spelling has gone through public breakdowns, marriage trouble, and has even gained weight, so now the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star is turning to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Teddi Mellencamp for help. Radar Online is reporting that Spelling has hired Mellencamp as her accountability coach, and she has already seen positive results.
“Tori has been working with Teddi Mellencamp at ‘All In by Teddi‘ and her team of coaches to focus on a healthy and balanced approach towards food and exercise,” a rep for Spelling revealed. “She is very proud of the work she has put in.”
An insider says that Spelling is following an egg-based diet and has lost “so much weight.” The 45-year-old used to be scary skinny, but while pregnant with her fifth child, Beau, last year, she packed on the pounds.
As summer ☀️comes to an end we got to squeeze in a little getaway… . Our family is always up to finding new and cool gems of places that our big tribe can drive too and can also hold all of us ( no easy task with 5 young kiddos) . We found ( thanks @yelp #fangirl) the amazingly beautiful and uber family friendly ( also pet friendly) @oceanpalms . It’s beachside chic with a nod at the spirit of Aloha ? . . Oh, and did I mention it IS actually beachside? . #oceanpalmsbeachresort #magical #beachside #california #aloha #familyfun #paradise #familyroadtrippin #traveltribe #travelfamily ?by @imdeanmcdermott
Spelling had a hard time losing her baby weight after Beau’s birth, and earlier this year she had a breakdown after fighting with her husband Dean McDermott that resulted in him calling 911.
She has also had problems with her finances, facing lawsuits from City National Bank and American Express. City National sued because Spelling and McDermott didn’t pay back a $400,000 loan, and American Express took the couple to court twice over failure to pay back over $100,000.
As an accountability coach, Mellencamp has come to Spelling’s rescue by helping her meet her goals. The RHOBH star has said that we can’t perform at our best when we aren’t feeling our best, and the process makes us vulnerable and susceptible to change. Mellencamp says that she sees a difference in her clients’ moods and confident as the change occurs, and that is “where the magic happens.”
As for Spelling and McDermott’s marriage, they are doing what they can to patch things up. They recently started counseling, and an insider says that the couple is still very much in love and are dedicating themselves to improving their marriage.
The source also says that the couple plans on raising their five children as a team, and they realize things got out of hand when their fights became public. Even though these blowouts have been painful, they have been an “eye-opening” experience for the couple.
Back in March, police received two calls in one week about Spelling’s mental health and well-being. But, they look at that time as a “nervous breakthrough” instead of a “nervous breakdown.” Their counseling has helped turn things around for them, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to make their relationship work.
Tori Spelling has also given herself a break when it comes to taking care of her five kids and has hired extra childcare because taking care of them herself “is close to impossible.”
