Since his divorce from Katie Holmes five years ago, Tom Cruise has not spent time with his 12-year-old daughter, Suri, because leaders from the Church of Scientology apparently said he couldn’t. Cruise is so loyal to the church that he didn’t question their directive, but now a new report claims that he is ready to see Suri again, and he is devising a plan to make it happen.
“Tom’s tired of being bossed around by them [the church]. He’s had to watch from afar as Suri grew into a lovely young lady, and he regrets that he’s missed out on so much. He’s dying to be a part of her life!” an insider told Star.
When Cruise missed Suri’s 12th birthday in April, the source claims that was when it hit the Mission Impossible star that he needed to be in her life. After missing five birthdays, he realized it was time to put a legal team together to figure out a way for him to see her again.

Of course, if he wants to move forward with his plan, he will have to get the church’s approval. But, Cruise is one of their biggest stars, and that gives him leverage. Really, it’s getting Holmes’ approval that will be his biggest obstacle.
The rumor is that when they got divorced, Holmes agreed to keep quiet about the Church of Scientology as long as Cruise stayed away from Suri. She didn’t want her daughter to be part of the religion, and she didn’t want Cruise trying to “brainwash” her.
A source claims that the Dawson’s Creek star is starting to warm up to the idea of Suri reuniting with her dad, but at first, she went “berserk” when hearing the idea. Ultimately, she wants what is best for her daughter, and Cruise has promised he won’t bring his religion into the situation.
Meanwhile, Suri – a little entrepreneur and philanthropist – joined some friends this past weekend at the annual New York City Gay Pride Parade and sold lemonade for $2 a glass. The kids ended up with a plastic box full of cash, and considering her charitable history, it’s quite possible the money raised went to a good cause.
In the past, Holmes has said her daughter is “generous and very sensitive,” and she is always saying she wants to give her toys to those who need them.
Soon, Suri will be a teenager, but Holmes says she isn’t worried about that. Instead, she is enjoying this time with her daughter. She added that she has never been a cool mom, so she has nothing to lose.
