Say what you want about New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, but lazy, complacent, and unaccomplished are certainly not adjectives that stick. Brady, an NFL veteran of 17 years, has racked up an astounding set of statistics to include, perhaps most importantly, 4 Super Bowl wins.
And, fresh off the Patriots’ recent vanquishing of the Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC Championship, Brady is now set to lead his team to his 7th Super Bowl appearance.
Some would say that such a gifted athlete wouldn’t need to sweat the small details of preparing for the next big game. Not Brady however! In fact, he recently revealed that he wasn’t beyond some late night cramming. Merely hours after the AFC championship game, he was up and out of bed, committing the Falcons’ play book to memory.
Although always cool under pressure, in a recent interview on the topic of the upcoming battle with the Falcons, he was quick to note the challenges that a driven team such as the Falcons could present. It’s hard to imagine though that a team as polished as the Patriots, and led by an already legendary quarterback, could have anything too serious to worry about.
Or, perhaps Brady is on to something with his late night study sessions? Could it be the anxiety of a king of the hill, looking over his shoulder for the opponent that will bring his dethronement? After all, Goliath, of the Old Testament, was at one point in his career, champion over all that challenged him until an upstart named David came along.
Regardless of what the future holds, given Brady’s illustrious career to date, it is certain that he is preparing and practicing for everything that the Falcons can throw his way. Only a fool would discount the challenger’s potential for an upset.
And then, of course, there is the wild card… Given Brady’s friendship with the President, it couldn’t hurt that Trump will probably be cheering Brady on at Super Bowl LI!
