Tom Arnold is talking about his ex-wife once again following the revival of her short-lived comedy series, Roseanne. Previously, Barr took to Twitter to make a racist comparison of an African-American woman to a combination of “Planet Of The Apes,” and the “Muslim Brotherhood.”
And after her media fallout, Tom has secured several interviews in the mainstream media for the sake of dishing on what Roseanne is really like. When he sat down with reporters from Good Morning Britain on Monday, June 4th, the 59-year-old actor shared his thoughts on his ex-wife’s comments.
During the chat, when asked if Roseanne was a racist, he said, “uh, yeah. Yeah, obviously.” However, he doesn’t base his opinion of her on her most recent comment, but rather her tweets over the last six months.
As you may know, Roseanne describes herself as a Trump supporter, which is something that surprises Tom, as he and Roseanne have known Trump personally for over thirty years.
When he spoke with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, Tom said she was one “of those conspiracy people,” and also supports Donald Trump, whom, according to Tom, is also a racist.
Arnold went on to say that he knew what was coming and had warned everyone in the past that Roseanne was a racist, as well as Donald Trump. And while her tweets may have been offensive, Tom said that his ex-wife struggles with mental illness.
He said, “I don’t know exactly what’s going on. I know there are mental illness issues.” And previously, during a conversation with reporters from the Hollywood Reporter, Tom said that the reboot had to be canceled.
“It had to happen,” the actor stated. As it was previously reported, ABC chose to cancel the show indefinitely after they called her tweets “abhorrent” and “repugnant.” The CEO of ABC, Channing Dungey, is a black woman, leading some to believe that was the sole reason for the speed of their decision to cancel the series.
