After being married for over two decades, country supercouple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are doing something they’ve never done before: releasing a joint album.
While having a longterm marriage of 21 years is something almost unforeseen in the spotlight, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have managed to truly have it all over the span of their careers. A strong marriage, beautiful children and illustrious, impressive personal careers.
It’s surprising that the two haven’t before ventured into the realm of recording an entire album together but after their 20-year marriage milestone, they decided it was time to collaborate on a full album. As two of the most respected and successful country music superstars, their musical talents are aligning for their first dual album.
Though for many fans this project is a long time coming, for them the timing just worked out. McGraw explained that earlier on in their careers, they both made concerted efforts to work in a partnership when it came to their marriage and raising their then young children. “It’s a collaborative effort and when we married we had to have that talk. When one’s working, the other one has to be back at home and it works out,” McGraw explains.
Now that their children are older, it’s as good a time as any.
They made the announcement this past Friday after also debuting a snippet of the title single, “The Rest Of Our Life”. The song is co-written by Grammy-award winner Ed Sheeran with Johnny McDaid, Steve Mac, and Amy Wadge.
Though this isn’t the first time the couple has made music together, this does mark the very first time they’re releasing a dual album together.
The 11 track album will be released on the same day as their concert special airing on Showtime titled Tim and Faith, Soul2Soul.
The two recently talked about gift giving ahead of their 21st anniversary and McGraw got candid regarding his adoration for his wife saying: “For me, it’s hearing her sing every night – that’s the best part about (the tour). To see her up on stage, having a great time and just belting it out. She’s just that good.”
