Tiffany Haddish has a new girlfriend: her Emmy. The Girls Trip star recently joked that she is now dating her Emmy Award, an accolade she is tremendously proud of.
Tiffany received the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her appearances on Saturday Night Live. When she spoke with People Magazine in their latest issue, she stated, “I’m most excited about when I get to get back in the bed with that Emmy.”
The star referred to the accolade as her “boo,” and said it’s the closest thing she’ll ever get to having a lesbian relationship. Haddish joked that her award heats up after holding it for a little while.
As you may know, Tiffany is currently promoting The Oath, a film she helped produce about an American nation where people have to pledge allegiance to the president rather than the country.
Regarding the movie, Haddish stated the theme is allegorical, in some sense, because in her mind, it’s a path that America could be headed down if we’re not careful.
The Oath comes out today. This is her latest film, following the breakthrough success of Night School, which she filmed alongside Mr. Kevin Hart.
Night School is one of the highest earning comedy films of the year, next to the romantic-comedy, Crazy Rich Asians. While Tiffany’s career continues to explode, not everyone out in the entertainment world is happy about it.
As it was previously reported, Katt Williams, a fellow comic, took Tiffany to task, accusing her of sleeping her way up to the top. Kevin Hart delivered a long diatribe in her defense on The Breakfast Club, where he suggested Katt’s fall from Hollywood has a lot more to do with his behavioural problems and drug abuse.
