Tiffany Haddish was in one of the biggest comedy films of the year in 2017 with her breakout role in Girls Trip, along with Jada Pinkett-Smith. And now, she’s continuing to dominate, including her latest film with Kevin Hart, Night School.
In a report from Deadline, Haddish and her co-star, Kevin Hart, dominated the box office in 2018, making it the highest earning comedy film of the year. Thus far, it has earned approximately $28 million in its first weekend.
In a statement on Universal’s website, Jim Orr, the distribution executive, sang both of their praises. He said, “Kevin and Tiffany are two of the biggest names of comedy,” and they were collaboration in Night School earned Universal yet another big win this year.
Jim alluded to their pointed chemistry on screen, saying that they had impeccable timing together. While Night School didn’t do well with the critics, the public and the box office numbers appeared to enjoy it.
However, not everyone is pleased with Haddish’ success. As it was previously reported, fellow comic, Katt Williams, thrashed Tiffany during an interview recently, suggesting that she didn’t deserve her success, adding that she slept with “white men” to get to where she is today.
In response, Tiffany was nothing but kind and polite to Katt, saying to him that she looked forward to being at the Emmy Awards. Kevin Hart, on the other hand, was less polite about it.
During an appearence on The Breakfast Club, Kevin eviscerated Williams, pointing to his plethora of personal problems and drug abuse which supposedly ended his career too soon.
Initially, Kevin explained, Katt was the one who was supposed to be on top when his comedy career took off approximately ten years ago. However, his life was plagued by problems and poor decision making.
