Tiffany Haddish has made a name for herself by being herself. She’s loud, funny, direct and unflinching. These characteristics are ones that have been a part of her personality since she was young, some sharpening more and more as she’s grown into herself as a woman and as a comedian.
Haddish has recently opened up about something very painful and difficult to speak about. While she’s always been tenacious and outspoken, her brash persona has been used in a specific way to defend herself.
She has used her powerful and outspoken personality to shut predatory and abusive men down on more than a few occasions.
She also realized that her tactics could be used in a way to protect herself because she noticed that men are afraid of women who appear aggressive.
In fact, she will often become aggressive and preemptively hit on a man just so she can control the narrative and lower the chance that he’ll hit on her or make her uncomfortable.
She uses this as a way to keep men at an arm’s length. After situations where she’s been abused and assaulted, she has found that this is a tactic that causes many men to leave her alone.
As far as looking for a man for a serious relationship, Haddish says she’s not in the market.
She’s had quite her fair share of boyfriends and sexual experiences, she was even married to the same man twice, so she’s not really interested in a romantic partner at the moment.
For now, she’s focusing on her career and the plethora of ideas she’s been working on.
She’s currently preparing for the release of three different films: Night School, The Oath, and Nobody’s Fool.
In terms of who in the business she looks up to, she has taken quite a liking to The Rock, she finds his work ethic and humor inspiring.
