In a new interview conducted by E!, the publication talks with Robert Behar about what it’s like to work with Janet Jackson. In the sit-down, the media enterprise conversed with Janet’s stylist who has been working with the singer for over ten years now. In the conversation, he discusses life on the road with the superstar.
As CI readers know, Janet recently re-started her “State Of The World” tour after her divorce with Wissam Al Mana.
The pair split up not long after the birth of their child together, and since then, rumors of domestic abuse have circulated, particularly from Janet’s brother, Randy.
Robert explained in his time as Janet’s employee for 12 years, he’s learned of Janet’s “very, very, generous and incredibly kind” nature.
He added, “(she’s) very precise with creations, whether it’s her tour or show.” According to Behar, the sister of the late Michael Jackson knows “exactly what she wants.”
He added that it “makes things a lot easier” for him because of her incredibly precise eye for style and fashion.
As for when the pair first started working on the outfits for her State Of The World Tour, Robert said they started discussing it in January and met in London a couple of times in February, the month after.
Just three weeks before the show, they began to go “full-force.” Behar explained, “(Janet’s) 120% involved in it,” from the choreography, the dancers, to the band, and everyone in between.
She is unlike Mariah Carey, who is known for being quite the diva. Celebrity Insider readers will remember when her co-stars from The House came out to criticize Mariah and her behavior on set. Even Will Ferrell himself implied she was difficult. However, the Jackson sister is different. Janet treats her art and her performances like a world-class superstar – which she is.
