Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are elated that their bundle of joy has finally arrived. In fact, the famous couple recently celebrated the birth of Chicago West with a night out at the movies. While the identity of the surrogate mother who carried the newest addition to the former family of three is still concealed, the money that she was paid to do so has been revealed.
According to Radar Online, Kim and Kanye paid the woman a total of $69,000 to carry and deliver Chicago West.
This salary does not include the total cost they paid for their new daughter.
Other expenses that they covered include “medical expenses, fees, costs and services relating to the pregnancy and the birth of the child.”
Add in insurance, lawyer, maternity wear and monthly allowance fees — the two ended up paying well into the hundred thousand’s.
Since the reality star and her husband are worth over $300 million, it would seem that they paid mere chump change to the woman who brought them their bundle of joy.
The surrogate reportedly didn’t do it for the money. She wanted to bless another family with a child of their own.
The woman is reportedly a 20-something stay at home mother of two that is married.
Kim decided to use a surrogate after finding out that she could literally die if she attempted to carry another child.
If you’ve been following the mogul, you would know that Kim had a hard time with her first two pregnancies when she was carrying North and Saint.
In recent seasons of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kim struggled with the thought of having another person birth her children but wanted to give her two oldest children another sibling.
The second-oldest sister asked Kourtney if she would be willing but ended up getting a stranger to do it.
Do you think that the amount Kim and Kanye paid to their surrogate as unfair?
