The Weeknd is doing everything he can to keep Bella Hadid at his side, even if that means deleting his former girlfriend, Selena Gomez, from his life. Hadid reportedly forced The Weeknd to remove all traces of Gomez if he wanted to get back together – and he did just that.
The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, famously reunited with Hadid during Cannes Film Festival. But before Hadid agreed to reunite, she allegedly told Tesfaye to delete Gomez from his life forever. This includes removing all of the photos of Gomez that Tesfaye had on his phone. Although the singer eventually complied with Hadid’s demand, it did not go down without a fight.

According to Hollywood Life, Tesfaye and Hadid had a blowout fight prior to their Cannes reunion after the model found photos of Gomez on his phone. The photos made Hadid furious and she thought that Tesfaye still had feelings for his ex, which is why she forced him to delete them.
“Abel said it was just part of his past, but she accused him of wanting Selena back. After a huge fight, he caved and deleted every pic,” the insider revealed.
After Tesfaye complied with Hadid’s demands, the two attend this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France. The two were spotted exchanging kisses at a party on the beach and later watched a screening at the festival together. Tesfaye also attended the Fashion for Relief Show to watch Hadid walk the runway.
Rumors of a reunion first surfaced during Coachella earlier this year. The two were spotted smooching at the event, though Hadid later slammed the reports as false, saying it was not her. Given their recent appearance at Cannes, however, it is a safe bet that the girl in question was Hadid.

Tesfaye and Hadid have gone through their share of ups and downs over the years. They first started seeing each other in 2015 but called it quits a year later. Tesfaye quickly moved on and started dating Gomez in early 2017. That romance, however, only lasted around 9 months before the two parted ways. Tesfaye briefly opened up about his romance with Gomez a few months back. The singer admitted that his newest album, My Dear Melancholy, was influenced by the breakup and helped him deal with the split.
The Weeknd and Bella Hadid have not officially confirmed their romance and haven’t commented on the rumors surrounding Selena Gomez.
