Season 14 of The Voice has begun, and it is clear that judges Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, and Kelly Clarkson are all in it to win it. They may all be from different musical genres, but there is one thing they do have in common: secrets from their past. What could they possibly not want fans to know?
Levine’s wife, Behati Prinsloo, gave birth to their second child on February 16th, just one year after the arrival of their daughter, Dusty Rose, and that means that this could be his last season on the popular reality singing competition.
Sources say the decision has nothing to do with money, and instead he is ready for a break, so he can spend time with his family.
Levine is also known as the most high-maintenance and difficult judge on the set, requiring hours of hair and makeup. And, he refuses to go on camera unless his appearance is perfect.
However, he isn’t the only diva on the show. Multiple sources claim that his BFF Shelton is nasty when the cameras aren’t rolling.
“But the money and fame have changed Blake. He is a crybaby if he doesn’t get his own way, and he barks orders at people,” revealed one insider.
Shelton also got in some hot water last August with the Oklahoma Department of Health over his new Tishomingo restaurant. After an inspection, just before its September grand opening, the health department gave Ole Red four violations, including failing to protect food from contamination.
They asked him to fix the problems and will return for a follow-up inspection later this summer.
It was obvious from the beginning of the blind auditions that Levine, Shelton, and Keys were not going to take it easy on Clarkson, the newcomer. But, apparently, she is taking after her fellow judges by being following in their diva footsteps.
Insiders say she is bossy and argumentative with the other judges, and Shelton has an issue with her because of the amount of money the producers paid her to join the cast.
However, it is possible that Clarkson may have rightfully earned her diva status. She has talked about her struggle with weight over the years and says that when she was really skinny, she wanted to kill herself. She added that for four years, she was miserable inside and out.
As for Keys, she is incredibly private about her personal life. But, there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the Girl on Fire singer. In 2010, her husband, Swizz Beats, owed millions in taxes.
Along with adding Clarkson, producers have made a couple of changes to switch things up this season. They are introducing a block button and a save option to increase the competition factor.
The block button will prevent a coach from adding a new artist to their team, but each judge can only use it once during the first round.
When someone hits the block button against another coach, their chair will automatically turn around. But, the “blocked” coach will only know if someone blocked them if they hit their own button. If they don’t, the block remains available for another audition.
The blind auditions continue on The Voice Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
