The Spice Girls had an epic reunion and snapped a picture to commemorate the occasion. Fans of the ultra-popular 90s British girl group are losing their minds all over the internet. The most obvious bit of speculation is if this means a reunion performance or tour is on the horizon.
There have been rumors circulating that the five women, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm would be bringing the girl power group back to the forefront in some way. Though there seems to have been some hesitancy and doubt from both Chisholm and Beckham in the past.
Beckham has even recently gone so far as to say that any real reunion isn’t happening and that sometimes it’s okay to let a memorable stage of life past and leave it there.
This may be because out of all five of them, Beckham has one of the most visible careers as a fashion designer and style icon. Only rivaled by Melanie Brown who has had stints as a reality TV competition judge and is a common presence in tabloid magazines.
There is some type of shift happening despite claims that they wouldn’t be reuniting that have loomed since the better part of last year.
“We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together,” is what a statement that the five women released said upon the conclusion of their meeting.
The statement goes on to say that they are so grateful for the global interest that has been shown for the group to reunite and they are excited about the possibilities and projects they now have the time and freedom to complete.
They want to ensure that the ultimate message of female empowerment and sisterhood is kept integral in their work as it was decades ago.
It looks like, after a bit of negotiation, everyone was onboard with specific ideas around the group reuniting. Beckham and Halliwell agreed that because of the ages of most of their children, going on tour full time wouldn’t be ideal.
Instead, they have decided to roll out other projects as a group that have yet to be named.
