Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson confirmed he is strongly running for president during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. Unfortunately, for those who were hoping he’d launch a campaign for the 2020 election, The Rock clarified he’s interested in the 2024 presidential race. The news met mixed response across social media networks. Some expressed views of The Rock saving America from impending doom, while others stated the nation has had enough celebrities entering the political arena.
The Rock appeared with Kevin Hart during an interview with Ellen. He also spoke about possibly running for president in 2024 in a Variety interview.
While there is no doubt that The Rock is one of the most popular actors in this generation, many expressed fears that after the election of Donald Trump, too many people are going to run for office, and win, based upon celebrity status alone.
Many said that they want someone who is a career politician in office, as they will know what they are doing.

One person discussed the vetting process that should be involved in electing a president. The argument was made that when presidential candidates are selected based upon their celebrity status, everyone loses.
Another person suggested that Elmo run for president.
Let's just have Elmo run .. he would be more qualified

Some suggested that the main problem with President Trump’s administration is that he has no prior experience. They offered the advice that The Rock should get some experience at the county level. If he plans to run in 2024, he could gain a considerable amount of experience by then.
No.. Start at a county level first.. You need experience.. That's the problem now

Dwayne Johnson currently has five film projects in development. These include The Janson Directive, Teddy Bear, Big Trouble in Little China, Rampage and Skyscraper.
In addition to the above movies, there are 18 projects in development. It is unknown whether The Rock intends to complete all of those projects, but if so, one must ask if he’d have time to engage in politics.
On a grim note, some asked if the world and America would still exist in 2024.
It was also pointed out that The Rock might have stiff competition since Kanye West announced he’d be running for president to.
What do you think? Should The Rock run for president?
