As members of the Duggar family, the 19 kids of Jim Bob and Michelle have had the opportunity to make money as reality TV stars. But, the Duggar girls of Counting On also have to deal with many negatives when it comes to being a female in the uber-conservative clan.
From day one, the Duggar girls learn that their main purpose in life is to be a wife and mother, and they should put away any dreams of having a career. However, as In Touch Weekly reports, the girls have managed to learn some skills and develop a few talents. So, if Jim Bob wasn’t their dad, they could have possibly had jobs outside of the home.
If we lived in a world where the women in the Duggar family could explore their hobbies and not get married and have babies the second they exited their teens, it is possible that…
Jana Duggar Could Be An Interior Designer
The oldest Duggar daughter is 28 and still lives at home – per family rules – and many fans believe that she is trapped in the family home and forced to play nanny because she hasn’t gotten married.
She seems to be a jack of all trades and can do everything from baking bread to fixing a shower head. Jana is also a pianist and a fantastic gardener, but considering all of her home improvement projects over the years, it would make sense for her to be an interior designer if she ever had the chance to live on her own.
Jill Duggar Could Be A Nurse
Jill did receive certification from the North American Registry of Midwives in 2015, but if she had the opportunity, it would make sense for her to be a nurse like her brother John David’s new girlfriend, Abbie Grace Burnett.
Or, she could be a Certified Nurse Midwife, which requires eight years of training that includes a Bachelor’s Degree, one year of nursing experience, and three years in a nurse-midwifery program.
Jessa Duggar Could Be A Beautician
There was a time when Jessa was the family’s go-to barber. As a way to save money, the Duggar family has avoided going to the salon, and instead, they opt to cut their own hair.
Even with the family’s strict fashion rules and modest style requirements, Jessa has done her best to be on top of her appearance. And, she tries her best despite the fact that her parents sheltered her from internet makeup and hair tutorials.
Jinger Duggar Could Be A Photographer
The new mom has made no secret of her love of photography, and she definitely has some underutilized talent. Jinger shot Jill and Derick Dillard’s engagement photos, as well as Jessa and Ben Seewald’s. She also got the chance to take pictures at Josiah’s graduation.
Joy-Anna Duggar Could Be A House-Flipper
Her husband, Austin Forsyth, and her dad, Jim Bob, make money in real estate, and it looks like she also has a knack for flipping houses. Joy-Anna has a reputation as a tomboy, she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, and she has helped Forsyth with some of his projects. Apparently, she is a quick learner.
“I’ve learned that if she doesn’t know how to do it, you can just show her real quick, and she can figure it out and become better than you at it.,” said Forsyth.
Keep up with all the Duggar girls when new episodes of Counting On air Mondays on TLC.
