Eight years after The Hills went off the air, it looks like the cast is ready for a reunion. A new report claims that Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Lo Bosworth, Heidi Montag, and Spencer Pratt are planning to reunite on the red carpet of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
According to Us Weekly, there is also talk that MTV will be making “a big announcement” during the awards ceremony. Rumors have been swirling all summer that the network was considering bringing back the popular Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County spinoff that ran from 2006 to 2010.

“I would love to do a Hills reunion. I was talking to E! about doing one, and we were gonna do it, but then two people had to pull out because of another contract, so hopefully it’ll happen at some point, but it’s been out on hold for the moment,” Cavallari said in June.
The two people that Cavallari was referring to were Montag and Pratt, who apparently have a contract with MTV.
But Montag and Pratt are definitely down for a reunion, saying they would love to be involved in a reboot, especially after MTV found such success with Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Montag also joked that her husband has been trying to get The Hills back on the air ever since it ended. And, Pratt doesn’t deny he has been trying to make it happen.
“I’ve been calling the network every day for eight years. They know. I have my own line there,” Pratt joked on the Kyle & Jackie O show last month.
Cavallari is currently starring on her own reality series, Very Cavallari, and she says she also keeps in touch with Stephanie Pratt, Brody Jenner, and Laguna Beach star Stephen Colletti. However, Colletti isn’t interested in going back to reality TV because he is acting, and he doesn’t think they can recapture what they did the first time around.

During its original run, The Hills mostly focused on Conrad as she worked towards a career as a fashion designer in Los Angeles. Along the way, Montag turned from her close friend to an enemy after she met and fell in love with Pratt.
Over the years some of the former co-stars have gotten together and expressed an interest in reuniting on TV, but Conrad hasn’t voiced her support for the idea, and in the past, Bosworth has seemed horrified by the concept.
But now, it looks like MTV may have gotten everyone from The Hills on the same page, and a reboot could be in the works. Maybe we will find out for sure when the MTV Video Music Awards air Monday night on MTV.
