Teresa Giudice does not plan to live abroad after her husband, Joe Giudice, gets deported. Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania just revealed that Teresa plans to stay inside the United States when Joe is shipped off to Italy.
“I don’t think so,” Dolores shared after being asked if Teresa is relocating to Italy. “A lot of families live separately.”
Joe is scheduled to be deported once his prison sentence is over. Authorities are returning Joe to his native country of Italy, and he will not be eligible to return once that happens.
Judge John Ellington noted in his ruling that Joe gave up the right to be in the United States when he committed fraud. This will make it difficult if not impossible for Joe to return as a permanent resident. If Teresa decides to remain stateside, then it is not clear how she plans on dealing with a long-distance marriage.
Although Catania believes that Teresa will stay home after Joe’s deportation, RHONJ star Margaret Josephs believes Teresa will live in Italy at least part-time.
In a recent interview with People, Josephs praised Teresa for being strong and said she fully expects her to split time between Italy and the United States – at least until she can get Joe back.
Joe was sentenced to 41 months in prison for bankruptcy, wire, and mail fraud. He started serving time in the spring of 2016. He is scheduled for release next year.
Teresa has been quiet about her husband’s deportation, and it is unclear if the drama will unfold on the new season of RHONJ.
As if dealing with the deportation was not hard enough, Teresa’s dad recently experienced a health crisis. According to Radar Online, Teresa’s father is battling a bout of pneumonia and is still recovering in the hospital.
Teresa Giudice shared a photo of herself visiting the hospital last week, and Catania says that dealing with all of the drama has been overwhelming for her RHONJ co-star.
New episodes of the Real Housewives of New Jersey start Wednesday on Bravo.
