Kailyn Lowry has never been shy about sharing her true feelings, even if that means putting MTV on blast. But the Teen Mom 2 star took things to another level this week when she blamed the network for the demise of her marriage with Javi Marroquin.
In Lowry’s tell-all memoir, A Letter of Love, she claims that MTV has not been a positive influence in her life. When Lowry had her son, Isaac, she revealed that the crew of 16 and Pregnant had to lie in order to catch the birth on camera.
They told the hospital staff that they were Lowry’s cousins so that they could be admitted to the delivery room, which she now realizes was a little “f**ked up.”
When it comes to her relationship with Marroquin, Lowry believes things would have ended differently if it had not been for the show. According to Radar Online, Lowry blasted MTV for putting too much pressure on her and Marroquin to drum up drama every season.
She also admitted that starring on a reality TV show is not easy and that her true self is often missing after her scenes leave the editing room.
“There have been times when I’ve appeared ‘cold’ because I was scared to be transparent and open,” she shared in her book.
While Lowry expressed her true feelings in the memoir, not everyone is happy about it. Shortly after the book hit stores, Marroquin slammed Lowry online for making false statements about their relationship.
In an epic Twitter rant, Marroquin said that Lowry wrote the book so that she could justify her actions and asked her to stop using his name for publicity. He even threatened to lawyer up if Lowry does not leave him alone.
MTV has not responded to the comments Kailyn Lowry made in her book.
