When Javi Marroquin rekindled his romance with Lauren Comeau, most people thought they would keep their relationship out of the public eye. But after giving birth to her first child, Eli, earlier this month, Comeau announced that she has joined the cast of Teen Mom 2 for the upcoming season.
The big question now is how Marroquin’s ex-wife, Kailyn Lowry, will react to the news.
Comeau did not plan on appearing on Teen Mom when she started dating Marroquin. Being with him made it impossible to avoid the cameras, and she eventually agreed to become a part-time cast member.
“It was pretty much impossible for [Javi] to do any filming without me saying yes,” Comeau shared.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Marroquin added that cutting Comeau out of filming would have taken away from his time in front of the cameras. With Comeau and Marroquin doing everything together, including going to his son, Lincoln’s, games, it made sense to bring her into the Teen Mom family.
“We were filming at Lincoln’s games and Lauren was there,” Marroquin explained. “Kailyn is there.”
Marroquin revealed that a lot of interesting interactions took place at his son’s soccer games. Editing Comeau out would have taken away from those moments, which would have hurt the overall story.
When it comes to Comeau’s recent birth, fans should not expect to see the couple’s son too much on the show. In fact, Comeau revealed that Eli will only be seen on two occasions this season.
Cameras were on hand to capture Comeau and Marroquin’s return from the hospital. They also filmed Eli at Lincoln’s birthday party. But aside from that, Eli will stay off the show — at least for now.
As far as Lowry is concerned, her relationship with Comeau is off to a rocky start. Marroquin previously revealed that his ex-wife ignored Comeau at their son’s games and that the two are not on speaking terms.
Kailyn Lowry has not commented on Lauren Comeau’s casting, but is sounds like there is plenty of drama ahead on Teen Mom 2.
