Even though Tarek and Christina El Moussa’s marriage is over and from that point of view they are going through a difficult time in their lives, when it comes to their show, Flip or Flop, a little bit of ‘divorce publicity’ really raised up those ratings. I guess it really is true that there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
According to HGTV, the network airing the show, Flip or Flop topped the cable ratings, even overtaking two NBA games by a lot.
There have been rumors that HGTV might end the show now that Tarek and Christina are going through a divorce, but taking into consideration the huge ratings, the network will probably reconsider their deception.
According to The Wrap, previous episodes, gathered over 1.65 million (December 15), 1.58 million (December 22) and 2.06 million (January 5) viewers.
The former couple got married in 2009 and have two children together.
Tarek and Christina said that they are “committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be” even though they are no longer together. They also added that they would “work through this process civilly and cooperatively,” and maybe even manage to keep their show running despite their personal lives.
Both Tarek and Christina have been active on social media lately and posted pictures as proof they are trying to spend as much time as they can with their kids. Christina is also enjoying her new relationship with former Moussa contractor Gary Anderson.
Tarek was previously romantically linked to the family’s nanny, 23 year old Alyssa Logan. The relationship ended after only one month.
However, both Moussas denied to have been involved with someone else while still married to each other, saying: “Neither of us was involved in a romantic relationship with any third party prior to our separation, or believes the other was.”
As we have reported before, the split started from a domestic conflict that they tried to downplay afterwards.
