Queer Eye star Tan France was apparently racially profiled by TSA and is now speaking up about it! The man claims he went through some extra security checks no less than three times just this week! It makes total sense that he is sick and tired of it and also very suspicious as far as their intentions are concerned.
But that’s not all! In fact, he got his suspicions confirmed soon enough!
When Tan, who is Pakistani, asked one TSA agent why he kept being put through extra checks, they explained to him that his ‘name was on a list!’
Obviously frustrated, the stylist tweeted: WTF? I am brown but that does NOT mean I am a damn security risk!!!’
On Instagram, he went on a longer rant about the unfair way he had been treated.
Daily Mail was first to report that on his Insta story, he wrote: ‘I’ve just gone through the security check at the airport, it took me over 2 hours. And this was the third time this week. What happens is when you are checking in, they tell you that you cannot use your pre-check because there is a security issue.’
Tan went on to explain that they then take you from the line and they do a pat down, something the man described as ‘embarrassing.’
What made things even worse for him, however, was that they put a stamp on his ticket that the ticketing agents were not familiar with, resulting in his failure to board the plane!
In the end, he did manage to get onto a plane but wanted to share the horrible experience anyway ‘so I can tag TSA and hopefully they will see this and figure out why the f**k they are treating me like this.’
Sure enough, TSA saw it and apologized but still suggested race had nothing to do with the extra security checks, claiming everyone has to go though them.
