Tamar Braxton said she was faced with racial discrimination during her vacation in Cabo, Mexico with her family. Tamar and Vincent Herbert spent some time together in the city along with their son.
She claims that she had to face racial discrimination while she was there and here are the details of what happened.
During her few posts on her Instagram stories, she revealed her experience at a restaurant. The people working there probably didn’t have a clue about what they were getting themselves into when Tamar arrived.
She slammed the location for being racist. She threatened and claimed that she was overcharged for water and a single napkin.
‘After how horrible our food was…they made us pay $25 for water and a napkin,’ Tamar wrote on social media after paying $1K for the complete meal.
She also said that the staff followed her outside and allegedly threatened to call a Mexican drug cartel to hurt her and her family as well. Rolling Out reported that Tamar is positive that this experience happened due to racism.
‘SMH!! Y’all don’t know?’ she wrote. ‘We are all [minorities] why do you look at Black people as less than? SMH Don’t go here! We are just Black people to them.’
This incident comes after several reports of violence at resorts in Mexico. The U.S. State Department is prohibiting all U.S. government employees from traveling to famous resort towns because it is believed that a ‘real crime threat’ is connected to dangerous drug cartels.
