T.I. is well known for always opening up about socio-political issues and trying to make a difference where he can. On Sunday, there was a protest at the Lenox Road location, and the rapper just couldn’t miss it. T.I. was one of the A-listers in attendance at the boycott against a local Houston’s – huge national steakhouse chain.
The star as many others who joined the protest is convinced the business not only discriminates against African-American patrons but also racially profiles customers.
Over the weekend, Tip took to social media to talk about the racism, and announce his intentions of taking action, writing: ‘Okay, so I have heard four different stories from four different sources about discrimination against us at two separate Houston’s Steakhouse locations in my city. Tomorrow we get answers. #HoustonsWeHaveAProblem.’
Another fellow rapper that was there at the boycott was none other than Rick Ross.
We have learned that actress Ernestine Johnson, alleged that she was denied service at one location of the steakhouse chain.
On Sunday, there was a demonstration right in front of one of the locations.
Johnson has informed the media that Houston’s are yet to fix the situation, which means that the protesters are also ‘not finished at all.’
Houston’s has been involved in a similar scandal back in 2015 when a lawyer filed a lawsuit against its parent company – Hillstone Restaurant Group.
The attorney claimed he as well as other black Americans were asked to leave the Peachtree Road location more than once.
