New photos for Season 14 of Supernatural show the hunt for Dean (Jensen Ackles) is fully on. Apocalypse World archangel, Michael, possessed Dean at the end of last season, and Sam (Jared Padalecki) is doing everything in his power to find him. Will Sam and company find Dean before it is too late?
In a recent interview, showrunner Andrew Dabb explained how Michael is planning to rule the world in Dean’s body. With only 10 angels still alive on earth, there is nobody powerful enough to stop Michael on their own.
To that end, Dabb revealed that the opening episodes to Season 14 will delve into how Michael plans on taking over the world, which means Dean will be missing in action for quite some time.
Apart from a first look at Dean this season, the photos also gave us an update on Sam. According to TV Line, the images feature a rugged Sam gathering his team to find Dean and stop Michael in his tracks.
“He’s extremely driven to find Dean,” Dabb revealed, adding that Sam has “mobilized everyone he can think of” to find his brother. This includes the hunters from Apocalypse World and Cas (Misha Collins), who is very motivated to save Dean.

While Sam and Cas search for Dean, fans can look forward to seeing the return of a fan favorite in Season 14. DJ Qualls recently tweeted that he is returning to a show that he loves. The actor did not specify if that show is Supernatural, but fans were quick to predict that he is going to reprise his role as Garth this season. It has been a long time since we last saw Garth, but he was still alive the last time he appeared so it is entirely possible that he returns for a quick cameo.
Season 14 of Supernatural is set to kick off Oct. 11 on The CW.
