On the conservative news site, American News Hub, Stacey Dash, the “controversial” actress and Clueless alum, came out in support of Kanye West amid his Trump-supporting tweets. As it was previously reported, Kanye found himself in hot water when he tweeted out a picture of himself wearing a Trump hat, and also claimed he and the much-derided president shared, “Dragon Blood.”
The criticism of Kanye was swift, with most in the hip-hop community claiming that he’s out of touch and doesn’t understand his own fan base.
However, as our sources indicated before, Kanye is merely a master of publicity and knows how to generate views, ratings, and attention, all through his audacious actions and bombastic statements.
This past week proved no different, as the rapper took some heat for stating that he liked Donald Trump. Following the PR sensation, Kanye released his song, “Ye vs The People,” along with TI.
Stacey Dash, who has experienced many of her own controversies, claimed that it was incredibly brave and empowered of Kanye to go against the grain and voice his opposition to an established viewpoint.
In her op-ed, she talked about how she was lambasted by the media, Hollywood, and the Democratic party for supporting Mitt Romney against Barack Obama back in 2008.
Stacey said she felt disenfranchised by the Democratic Party, and it wasn’t likely they would ever change their policies in a way that’s beneficial to African-Americans.
In her essay, she goes on to refer to the Democratic Party as a “hate-group” since its origin. According to Dash, it’s important for a person to have their own opinion, and every person has that right.
Dash finished her piece by referring to the slave plantation days, something which she’s no longer a part of, and never was, to begin with. She added, “I’m off the plantation. I’m glad to see Kanye West stand up for himself.” And other fans on Twitter made a connection between the pair. Check out the tweet above.
