The feud between Ashley Jacobs and Kathryn Dennis heated up on the Season 5 finale of Southern Charm. The ladies aired their grievances while attending Patricia Altschul’s party, which didn’t go over well with the host. With Jacobs bashing Dennis for being a “baby mama,” Altschul had some choice words for her Southern Charm co-star.
After watching the finale unfold, Altschul took to social media to let everyone know how she felt about Jacobs’ heated argument with Dennis. “I thought that Ashley’s comments to @KathrynDennis were unspeakably cruel,” Altschul lashed out on Twitter.

According to Bravo TV, Jacobs took to the defense after the finale was over and explained her side of the story. In an interview for the Southern Charm After Show, Jacobs claimed that Dennis was the one who started the fight. Jacobs felt like she was provoked and that is why she lashed out on her co-star.
Although Jacobs has her reasons for fighting, a lot of fans sided with Dennis because of all of the positive changes she has made this season. This includes giving Altschul a second shot after years of giving her the cold shoulder.
In fact, things seem to have cooled down between Dennis and Altschul this season. The two will probably never be best friends, but the strides they have made are definitely in a positive direction.
During an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Dennis opened up about her relationship with Altschul and admitted that they are a lot alike. Dennis feels like their similarities are probably what drove them apart in the first place and having that understanding has helped them cope with each other.

Of course, it also helps that Dennis has been a lot more stable this season and has not started so much drama with her co-stars. Altschul noticed these changes in Dennis, and her good friend, Craig Conover, admitted that she stopped bad mouthing her behind her back. With Dennis turning over a new leaf, Conover doesn’t think people on the show view her as being so negative anymore.
We do not know how Dennis’ relationship with Altschul will develop over time, but they are definitely headed in the right direction. Altschul clearly warmed up to Dennis this season — inviting her to parties and saying good things about her sobriety — and we can only hope that trend continues in the off season.
Tune in Thursday for part 1 of the Southern Charm reunion on Bravo.
