Sofia Vergara is cashing checks! In a new list compiled by Forbes Magazine, the organization documented the highest-paid television actresses on TV and for the third year in a row, the Colombian-American performer takes the top spot.
In the last year, the artist made $41.5 million which includes her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett while the rest of her hard-earned cash comes from endorsement deals with companies like Pepsi and CoverGirl.
In 2016, she pulled in $43 million, and in 2015 she was tied with Kaley Cuoco for a whopping $28.5 million. In 2017, Kaley made the number two spot for her role on The Big Bang Theory.
In third place comes Mindy Kaling as well as Ellen Pompeo who both made $13 million this year. Mariska Hargitay took fifth place and continues to bring in the benjamins from her run on Law & Order: SVU – a television drama which is considered to be legendary.
Although Sofia is breaking the bank, in 2015, the actress, as well as her former fiancé, found themselves in a legal dispute regarding the future of two of her embryos.
The two organisms were created through in-vitro fertilization while they were together and were stored in a clinic in California. In the suit, James Charbonnet, who acted as their trustee, wanted to give the organisms a chance to live with a surrogate carrier.
However, this was not in the original contract, and James wanted to circumvent the initial agreement. The suit filed by the “trustee” intended to terminate the parental rights of Vergara because she “abandoned and neglected them.” However, her former lover is no longer involved in the legal battle, lucky for him.
