The feud is heating up between Sex and the City alums Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, and now Cattrall’s former on-screen lover, Jason Lewis, has been dragged into the fight. While Lewis was all about pleasing Samantha on the show, he’s officially on Team Carrie in real life.
Lewis was recently asked about his former co-star’s ongoing feud, which originated during Season 6 of Sex and the City. Lewis tried to stay out of the fight, but eventually caved and revealed that he’s all about SJP.
After calling Parker a consummate professional and saying that people should remember the opportunities that have been given to them – clearly a dig a Cattrall – he stopped abruptly.
“…and I’m going to stop there because I’ve got nothing good to say,” he explained.
Lewis added that he would choose Team Sarah over Cattrall because the former was always kind to him on the show. Parker and Cattrall started feuding during the final season of Sex and the City, though they’ve always kept their fighting out of the public sphere.
That, of course, changed last week when Parker offered her condolences on social media after Cattrall’s brother died. In response, Cattrall lashed out on Parker, calling her a hypocrite and a cruel person. Cattrall also blasted Parker for using her brother’s death as a way to further her “nice girl” image.
Cattrall’s comments confirmed that her feud with Parker has not died down. They also come amid rumors that a third Sex and the City movie was scrapped because of Cattrall’s diva-like behavior.
Cattrall has since denied these rumors and says that she simply did not want to do another movie, especially after being shunned by some of her co-stars.
Although many of her Sex and the City co-stars were not surprised by the ongoing feud, they couldn’t believe Cattrall’s comments on social media.
In fact, several friends close to Parker revealed that their feud was never this bad on the show and they couldn’t believe Cattrall would say such hurtful things about Parker for the entire world to see.
The insider also claims that Parker did not have any ulterior motive in sharing the condolences. She was apparently just trying to be kind and was hoping that they could set their feud aside for a moment.
Despite the escalation of words, Parker remains adamant that she is not fighting with Cattrall. In a recent interview, Parker admitted that she was disappointed that the third film was scrapped but she stopped short of validating the feud.
In Parker’s mind, she is not at odds with Cattrall because she refuses to fire back, making the feud completely one sided. Parker has not said anything about Cattrall’s latest comments, and likely won’t, given her previous statement.
The insider added that Parker had privately contacted Cattrall about her missing brother prior to the Twitter war.
Sex and the City 3 could still happen, but Parker has not commented on what could become of Cattrall’s Samantha.
