The tennis champion has recently starred in a touching brand new Gatorade commercial that seemed to also featured her baby girl Alexis Olympia. However, according to a rep for the company, the infant did not make her acting debut as Serena Williams was actually cradling a body double!
‘While Serena intended to have Olympia make her screen debut as part of this film, her daughter was under the weather and unable to be on set, but the sentiment remains the same,’ the Gatorade spokesperson stated.
In the tear-jerker commercial, the new mother of one can be seen holding the baby while giving her some really important life advice.
And if that doesn’t make you emotional already, a slowed down version of Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys can be heard playing in the background.
Today, Serena took to social media to share the ad, captioning it: ‘There are so many reasons to quit, but even more to keep playing. Even if you do not go pro, sports can teach you so much. So keep playing. #sistersinsweat.’

In the commercial, the proud mother says: ‘Baby girl, I will not mind if you play tennis badly. I will not mind, if you choose, to never pick up a racket. But I beg you, in this game of life, please keep playing no matter what. Just like it taught me, sports teach you to be strong. You will discover the power and grace of your body. You will learn to move, and you will learn the way to move others.’
She went on to talk about sports as a way of learning about what having allies really means.
Regardless of race or jersey color, the sportsmanship will unite the competitors.
Such beautiful words! Do you agree?
