Serena Williams is a proud mama, and she recently shared a picture where she is seen breastfeeding her baby girl, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
On September 1st, the tennis champion and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, welcomed a beautiful baby girl who they opted to name after her father — thus the Jr.
Since giving birth, Williams has been sharing photos of her daughter with her millions of followers.
She recently posted a selfie that has gotten people’s attention.
In it, little Olympia is wearing a cute white onesie with a drawing of a taco in front with the words “Taco About It.”
The infant is laying in bed in her mother’s arms who is breastfeeding her.
The legendary athlete did not caption the precious photo.
Fans are happy that she is showing other mothers the benefits of feeding their babies breast milk.
One person stated: “Well, of course, she will feed her child. However, there are scientific studies that show the benefits of breastfeeding over formula, though some don’t believe or think it matters. However, I do realize that not everyone can breastfeed. I am simply glad to see she is one who can and chooses to do so.”
Another shared: “Breastfeeding..nice.Thanks for promoting breastfeeding, Alexis! You and your fiancé queen @serenawilliams are awesome!”
A third commenter, a mother, explained: “Who cares how shes fed as long as shes fed. Boob em or formula doesn’t matter a happy baby is a full baby.”
Recently, Williams penned an emotional letter to her own mother, Oracene Price, to thank her for all the love she has given her, and for the sacrifices, she has made on her behalf.
It read: “Dear Mom,
You are one of the strongest women I know. I was looking at my daughter (OMG, yes, I have a daughter) and she has my arms and legs! My same strong, muscular, powerful, sensational arms and body. I don’t know how I would react if she has to go through what I’ve gone through since I was a 15 year old and even to this day.”
The piece continued: “I’ve been called a man because I appeared outwardly strong. It has been said that that I use drugs (No, I have always had far too much integrity to behave dishonestly in order to gain an advantage). It has been said I don’t belong in Women’s sports — that I belong in Men’s — because I look stronger than many other women do. (No, I just work hard, and I was born with this badass body and proud of it).”
Both mother and daughter look happy and healthy, and that is all that matters.
