It looks like, not too long after being released from rehab, Selena Gomez is heading towards another downward spiral of drugs, booze, and heartbreak. At least that’s what the singer’s family and friends fear it’s going to happen really soon. According to an insider, Selena’s close ones are so worried about her that they decided it’s time for an intervention.
As we have reported in the past, Selena Gomez finished her two-month stay in rehab in November of 2016. She claimed that she was suffering from the effects of lupus, but a source close to the artist said she was actually in rehab because of her addiction to pills like Ambient and Xanax.
Recently, Selena was spotted kissing The Weeknd with whom she started a relationship soon after. Her new boyfriend might not be the best influence for Selena who is trying to start anew and remove all the negative people from her life.
The 26 year old singer is known for his heavy drug use that he has actually admitted to before.
After they became an item, Selena posted on social media a picture of her drinking what looked like wine.
“Some of Selena’s close friends and family want to stage an intervention before it’s too late,” shared the source. “They fear that this is going to end well.”
Selena Gomez hasn’t been very lucky when it comes to relationships. As fans already know, Gomez and Justin Bieber have been an on and off couple for a long time and it didn’t end very well.
Furthermore, Gomez’s bad relationship with her mother and step-father became even worse when the star fired her parents as part of her management team in 2014.
That same year, Selena entered rehab in Arizona briefly for what insiders said was a pill and booze problem. However, the singer denied that was the cause.
Now, the family is ready to forgive their daughter and help her.
“Everyone has tried to step in at different points in Selena’s life but after so many ups and downs a lot of people close to her are just kind of at a loss as to what to do,” said the insider.
“She tells everyone to mind their own business and that it is her life. She is going to do what she wants to do.”
