On February 15, 2018, Nicole Eggert and her attorney Lisa Bloom appeared on the talk show Good Day L.A. where they discussed her recent press conference and allegations she and Alexander Polinsky have made against their former Charles in Charge director and co-start Scott Baio. When the interview was over, Scott Baio shared a message from his spokesperson Brian Glicklich that indicated Nicole Eggert recanted her story while on the interview. Scott Baio has denied all allegations against him that range from child physical abuse to sexual abuse while Alexander Polinsky and Nicole Eggert worked with him. Alexander says the abuse occurred for him between the ages of 12 and 15. Nicole says her abuse took place between the ages of 14 and 17.
Scott Baio held a live press conference via Facebook on January 28, 2018, where he read past interviews Nicole Eggert had given saying that she and Scott had a great friendship and she’d love to work with him again. He also played an interview by Nik Richie where Nicole described losing her virginity to Scott. He admitted that they had sex once and he took her virginity but said she was of age and seduced him. He also held a live press conference following Nicole’s and Alexander’s, but he was unable to attend and his attorney and spokesperson read a statement for him instead.
Though the police report Alexander Polinsky and Nicole Eggert filed haven’t been publicly released, it doesn’t appear at this point that anyone has accused Baio of rape to authorities. During the press conference, Lisa Bloom said the charges that Nicole Eggert is alleging against Baio is child sexual abuse. Likewise, due to the sexually-themed nature of the abuse, Alexander Polinsky described he is alleging charges of assault.
You may watch the full interview with Nicole Eggert and Lisa Bloom on Good Day L.A. in the video player below.
The incident that occured when Nicole was either 17, 18, or 19, might not factor into the legal case as the witnesses that Lisa Bloom has presented are regarding Nicole Eggert and Alex Polinsky when they were on the Charles in Charge set as children.
Nicole Eggert also said that a witness to physical abuse that occurred on the set of Charles in Charge gave a statement to police. She and Alexander Polinksy filed official police reports with the Los Angeles Police Department on February 6, 2018. The case is currently being investigated.
In the above video, you can hear Nicole Eggert answer questions and explain a bit more about the abuse she allegedly endured. When asked about the incident described in the Nik Richie “The Dirty” interview, where she described losing her virginity, she offered a different scenario based upon Scott Baio’s proposed time frame. She did not say that she was stating a new fact or changing her story.
If you watch the video, you will hear as she calls Scott a womanizer.
When Brian Glicklich released the following statement he titled it “Nicole Eggert Recants Key Claim.”
On further reading; however, you will see that he stated “Nicole Eggert appeared to recant the key claim.”
It is interesting that Scott Baio’s spokesperson is referring to this incident as the “key claim” when Lisa Bloom described the claims as being years of child abuse against Alexander and child molestation against Nicole Eggert on the set.
here is statement from @ScottBaio spokesperson regarding the Nicole Eggert interview on @FOXLA @GDLA … Baio and team reacting to one excerpt of the interview. Please note: we have asked Baio on the show as well, repeatedly, and the invitation is still open pic.twitter.com/gJFhTLvN5o

Pete Wilogren from Fox LA and Good Day L.A. shared the statement on his official Twitter feed. He also stated that the statement that Nicole Eggert recanted her claim came only from a portion of the interview.
Wilogren also said that he has repeatedly invited Scott Baio to come on the show and discuss the allegations or present his side of the story. At this point in time, he has not.
Wilogren said that Scott Baio is welcome to appear on the show.
What do you think about the statement and the full interview? Do you think Nicole Eggert recanted a “key claim” of abuse against Scott Baio?
(Charisse Van Horn and Alexander Polinsky personally follow each other on Twitter and have spoken to each other in the past, but not about the Scott Baio case. She has also tweeted in the past messages of support for Nicole Eggert to come forward and tell her story. She does her best to be fair and balanced and present all sides of the case. Scott Baio denies all allegations of child abuse against him.)
