Sasha Pieterse admitted she was sad to leave her Dancing with the Stars journey. Sasha and her pro dancer partner Gleb Savchenko were eliminated, and at the end of the show, they gave an interview, opening up about how they felt.
‘I’m not mad, I am just really bummed. I really wanted to be here. It sucks, but I made some amazing friends, I had such a good time, and I feel like I am just grateful,’ Pieterse explained.
She went on to reveal that she is probably the most grateful for her now close friend Gleb who even promised to give a few dance lessons to her fiance Hudson Sheaffer.
The dance pair were tied for the fourth place with other five couples, having 24 points out of 30 for their foxtrot.
Despite the fact that they were not in the top three, they have been in the past, and that is why their elimination was really unexpected.
Savchenko confessed that it was a shock for him as well and that he expected they’d stay on for at least a couple more weeks.
He went on to say that he is really proud of his partner and seeing her evolution made him genuinely happy as a dance teacher.
As fans may remember, this season, the 21-year-old Pieterse opened up about a hormone imbalance that caused her to gain no less than 70 pounds in just two years.
That being said, the dance competition was more than just about improving her dancing skills – it helped change her life, making Pieterse feel like herself once again.
