Viewers haven’t been all too happy about Kelly McCreary’s character, Maggie Pierce, dating Jackson, the former husband of Sarah Drew’s character April! In response to the fans, Drew took to social media to ask them to stop attacking Grey’s Anatomy co-star McCreary.
Those who keep up with the medical drama have expressed their disdain at the fact that Jesse Williams’ Jackson is moving on from April with Maggie.
But it seems like some fans may have taken this whole thing too far and now, Drew decided to post a message, urging them to take it easy with the fictional world of the show.
In a note posted on Twitter, the actress wrote: ‘I need to say something to some of you. I say ‘some’ because I know that many of you are not participating in this. Look, I know these characters mean so much to you – believe me, they mean a lot to me too – but I don’t feel defended when you attack my friends. My beautiful, loving, loyal sister, Kelly, is a brilliant, fiercely talented team player, who ALWAYS shows up and dedicates herself to the stories she is asked to tell.’
Drew continued: ‘Please stop attacking her for doing her job. When you hurt her, you hurt me too. When you show kindness to her, you show kindness to me too. Please be kind.’
What made the anger of some fans ever worse was the news back in March that Drew, as well as Jessica Capshaw, were leaving the TV series.
According to the messages they shared soon after the news exploded, they had no saying in that decision making.
To make matters worse, a teaser for the upcoming episode suggests April might be getting killed off, and fans are not happy.
