Sara Gilbert and Sheryl Underwood from CBS’ show The Talk have publicly come out in support and defense of Alexander Polinsky. Alexander Polinsky joined Nicole Eggert in child abuse allegations against their Charles in Charge director and co-star Scott Baio.
The two held a press conference with their attorney Lisa Bloom on February 14, 2018, where Polinsky told how Baio allegedly berated him with homophobic slurs, physically assaulted him, and humiliated him between the ages of 12 and 15. Polinsky says he walked in on Scott Baio sexually molesting Nicole Eggert and became the target of brutal bullying as a result. Scott Baio denies all the allegations and vows to clear his name.
The Los Angeles Police Department has an open and ongoing investigation into Nicole Eggert’s and Alexander Polinsky’s claims. Polinsky and Eggert are not seeking any type of civil or monetary compensation. It will be up to the LAPD and District Attorney whether criminal charges will be filed against Scott Baio.
Sara Gilbert made headlines several weeks ago when she read a statement by Alexander Polinsky on air and broke down crying. Sara Gilbert and Alexander Polinsky are long-time close friends and she couldn’t contain her emotion while reading about the abuse he said he endured. The video clip of Sara crying on set and needing to be comforted went viral.
Some who have sided with Scott Baio over the allegations began attacking Sara Gilbert on social media networks for supporting and standing by her friend.
Sara addressed those who have sent her messages and asked them to stop and think about the impact of their words if what Alexander Polinsky and Nicole Eggert is saying is true. Still, many people have determined that Alexander and Nicole were not abused by Scott Baio and instead he is being targetd for being a Trump supporter.

Sheryl Underwood came out with a very strong message at the end and said that we all need to stand up for Alexander because of the heavy burden he has been carrying around for years. Considering that Alexander Polinsky is now 43-years-old and is just now speaking out about the alleged acts that took place when he was between 12 and 15 years old, he has been carrying a lot.
Sheryl continued to say that they must support him because the only way he was able to come forward was in knowing that he had support.
Though Alexander Polinsky said that Scott Baio never sexually abused him, Lisa Bloom said the allegations of Baio exposing himself at him is a form of child sexual abuse.
What do you think of Sara Gilbert’s and Sheryl Underwood’s boldness in defending and standing up for Alexander Polinsky?
(Charisse Van Horn and Alexander Polinsky personally follow each other on Twitter and have spoken to each other in the past, but not about the Scott Baio case. She has also tweeted in the past messages of support for Nicole Eggert to come forward and tell her story. She does her best to be fair and balanced and present all sides of the case. Scott Baio denies all allegations of child abuse against him.)
