In a new interview with Ryan Seacrest on Watch What Happens Live, the former host of American Idol came out to defend Mariah Carey regarding her New Year’s performance that went haywire. According to Carey and the rest of her crew, she didn’t sing during the set in Times Square because her earpiece didn’t work so she couldn’t hear the music.
Seacrest, who is 42-years-old, was the man hosting the event; he claimed he highly doubted a team of such professional expertise would make a mistake like that. He said, “they put on the biggest live music events, and they know what they’re doing.”
Seacrest added that Mariah’s team is the best in the industry, so he finds it hard to believe they made a mistake of that caliber. At the time, Seacrest said he didn’t really know what was going on. He tried to “find a monitor” to react on.
Not long after the incident, Dick Clark Productions denied the allegations put forward by the rest of Mariah’s team. In a report from Dick Clark Productions, the organization claimed that they had no involvement in the mistakes of Carey’s New Years performance.
With that said, they want everyone to know that they have nothing but the utmost respect for Mariah Carey as well as all of her cohorts. Mariah has had an interesting year thus far regarding the status of her career.
Fans will remember she was recently under attack from some of her coworkers on the set of The House with Will Ferrell. One small-time actor claimed she was insufferable and almost impossible to work with due to her capricious demands. However, knowing Carey, it’s unlikely she cares what anybody thinks of her!
