As you may know already, Ryan Reynolds along with other co-stars and crew members of Deadpool 2 were in attendance at Comic-Con yesterday. While there, the actor talked about the exciting cameos in the film, including perhaps the most unexpected of all – Brad Pitt.
The star portrayed The Vanisher, a character who stayed invisible the entire time except for a moment when he gets electrocuted and dies! Talk about a shocking turn of events!
The scene definitely got a lot of people gasping and squealing in glee in theaters precisely because they had no idea Brad Pitt would be in the movie and in such a hilariously ridiculous scene too.
Ryan told ET how they got Brad to be in the film and it turns out that it was easier than you’d imagine.
‘I was told that all he wants is a cup of coffee and I said, ‘Like a franchise or just an individual cup of coffee?’ I was told that one individual cup of coffee, which was really his way of saying, ‘I am doing it for nothing.’ And it was a totally solid and the nicest thing that anyone could do.’
‘I loved it, because what is more irresponsible than taking one of the biggest movie stars out there and giving him a role that’s utterly wordless and invisible with an exception of three frames of film? Yeah, that is kind of amazing.’ Agreed!
Deadpool is not your ordinary movie so fans should have been prepared for anything and yet, Brad Pitt in such a role still managed to shock many.
David Leitch, the director of Deadpool 2, explained that precisely because the film is so unique and successful that a cameo like that was possible.
