Ryan Lochte, apparently, isn’t the kind of guy who slows down after a scandal. Just a few weeks after USADA effectively banned him from competing for a year and two months, the Olympic swimmer partied hard in Las Vegas, where he spent approximately $11,500 at the Hakkasan.
According to sources who spoke with Fox News, around ten of his friends joined him for a joint birthday and bachelor party at the club. Fox claims that he and his friends had dinner together before heading to the VIP tables shortly before midnight.
When they were there, they spent most of the money on Grey Goose, Avion Tequila, and Veuve Clicquot Champagne before packing up and leaving three hours later. A spectator explained, “it looked like they were actually having a pretty good time. Even though he was just banned, Ryan appeared to be elated.”
While his career has definitely had some tough moments, his personal life is a different story, The swimmer, who just turned 34-years-old, married Kayla Rae Reid in January of this year.
It was approximately seven months after their son was born. For the most part, they managed to keep a low profile, but his agent told the publication they intend on celebrating with family and friends in a month or two from now.
As you may know, Ryan is no stranger to controversy, considering he claimed men dressed up as police officers robbed them at a gas station in 2016 while at the Summer Olympics.
It created an international scandal, and the swimmer then had to apologize profusely. The Olympian even stated that the pressure was so intense that he considered suicide.
As a result, Ryan lost four sponsorships but gained a few new ones in the process. The scandal was aptly named, Lochtegate, which took place in Rio de Janeiro.
