Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling very rarely opens up about his personal life. In fact, though he’s been with fellow actress Eva Mendes for over six years, they’re barely ever seen out in public together. They like to keep their personal and professional lives as separate as possible.
However, this fact didn’t stop Gosling from recently talking about his love and their two daughters when he recently visited the Jimmy Kimmel Show.
Gosling joked that he was excited to watch the NBA finals game that aired before the live taping of the Jimmy Kimmel show, he didn’t catch much of it because he says when you have young kids, you aren’t “watching anything that doesn’t have a talking tiger in it.”
He spoke about his new film, where he plays astronaut Neil Armstrong, titled First Man.
He did significant physical training and worked hands-on with NASA to make his portrayal as believable and accurately depicted as possible.
Gosling actually did so much training that he thought at one point he might have suffered brain damage from being banged around in the capsules so frequently.
It was his girlfriend of over six years and mother of his daughters, Eva Mendes, who suggested he go to the hospital to get evaluated for a concussion.
It turns out, he did have a minor concussion.
The couple are pretty much pros at keeping their relationship under wraps. They’ve never walked an award show red carpet together but just this past yeah, Gosling thanked his lady love in a touching Golden Globes speech.
Though Gosling continues to flourish in his career, Mendes has actually put a halt on acting to raise her children. She hasn’t taken on a role since she was pregnant with their first child, who is now 3, their second child, also a girl, is 2.
