After much speculation and not many direct answers, Chris Tucker has just confirmed that there is more hope than ever for ‘Rush Hour 4.’ The script for the prospective film is being worked on while producers and studios are being contacted.
Jackie Chan made it very clear last year that he wants to do ‘Rush Hour 4’ but was waiting on Chris Tucker. While speaking to Power 106, he explained that it was about having the time to do the movie and getting it together before they get too old.
“It’s not about money! It’s about [having the] time to make. Otherwise, ‘Rush Hour 4’ we’re all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please do Rush Hour 4.'”
During a visit to the ‘Winging It’ podcast, Tucker revealed that the movie is closer than ever to coming together.
“We’re working on a few things on the script right now, so we’re trying to get into production. But we’re working on it and trying to get it going. Jackie Chan wants to do it, I want to do it, [the] studio wants to do it, so we’re trying to get it together. I guess, Jackie and me, but yeah, I was definitely down as long as it comes together right. And it looks like it’s coming together right.”
The majority of Chris Tucker’s fans couldn’t be happier; however, there were some who took the good news to question whether or not Chris would return for ‘Last Friday’ — Ice Cube’s most anticipated movie to date.
The ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ actor won audiences over in the first ‘Friday’ but wasn’t in the follow-up films due to being a born-again Christian.
Although Chris may have a new lifestyle, it doesn’t mean that he is saying no to the final installment.
While chatting on an ESPN podcast, Tucker teased: “I don’t know. I talked to [Ice] Cube about it. He told me he was working on some stuff. And if it comes together right, I’m definitely gonna look at it and see if it works. ‘Cause I never say never; I definitely want to check it out. If it works, it’s a possibility.”
