Rupert Sanders is finally speaking about his affair with Kristen Stewart that left Robert Pattinson heartbroken.
In the summer of 2012, fans of Robsten, (the nickname given to the former power couple Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson), were shocked and saddened after a series of paparazzi-snapped pictures hit the Internet and the tabloids.
The scandalous photos showed Sanders, who is a father of two and was married to Liberty Ross at the time, standing on a bridge sharing kisses, hugs, and jokes.
They were later seen in a car making out and goofing around. The blurry photos went viral and caused Pattinson to hit pause on his romance with his “Twilight” co-star.
After thinking it through and receiving unsolicited advice from everyone under the sun including Donald Trump, Pattinson eventually dumped Stewart despite her begging him publicly to forgive her.
Sanders cheated with Stewart as he was directing her in the in the movie, “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which was released in theaters just one month prior to the scandal.
Two years after he was caught getting cozy with Stewart, Sanders divorced from Ross and she left with a big portion of his fortune.
This week, while promoting his new project, “Ghost in the Shell,” Sanders sat down with Metro to talk about what he learned from the highly-publicized scandal.

He told the publication: “You never know what’s coming in life. Around every corner there’s something unexpected, and that’s life. You just have to brush yourself off and continue moving forward the best you can. Everyone makes mistakes. I am bound to make more mistakes, and I wouldn’t expect my life to be exciting if I didn’t.”
He said the pictures did not hurt his career and added: “If you took people off the table for a momentary lapse, there would be no one making art.”
Stewart has since come out as bisexual and Pattinson is engaged to FKA Twigs.
